Vasastan Apartment

Located in Stockholm’s Vasastan district, this 100-square-meter apartment is the home of British architect Max Wolstencroft. Rather than radically transforming the century-old interior, the project preserves its existing architectural character and the traces of history accumulated over generations. Original wall mouldings, generous proportions and traditional details form a backdrop for a carefully selected collection of modern and vintage furniture. Warm woods, soft neutral tones and darker flooring introduce subtle contrasts, while restrained interventions allow the historic fabric of the apartment to remain visible. The result is a personal interior where old and new coexist naturally.
