Shanghai Art Deco Residence

Built in 1934, this Shanghai residence brings French Art Deco into dialogue with the architectural history of the city. The home belongs to collector Woo Wu, whose carefully assembled collection reflects years of research into the origins and craftsmanship of the movement. A restrained neutral palette creates a calm backdrop for furniture by Jean-Michel Frank, Francis Jourdain, Alexandre Noll and Richard Peduzzi. Refined proportions, natural materials and carefully selected objects define an interior where craftsmanship takes precedence over decoration. Rather than recreating a historical setting, the residence establishes a subtle conversation between Paris and Shanghai, past and present, restraint and richness.
