Dashi Namdakov
An internationally acclaimed sculptor, graphic artist, and jewelry designer of Buryat origin. His distinctive artwork merges academic traditions, Buddhist philosophy, and ancient nomadic mythology, and his monumental sculptures are exhibited globally.

Born in 1967 in the Transbaikal village of Ukurik into a family belonging to an ancient lineage of blacksmith-craftsmen (darkhans). This heritage strongly influenced the future artist's mastery of materials. He graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute, where he studied under prominent Russian masters.
The artist achieved widespread recognition in the early 2000s after his first solo exhibition. His works are characterized by a unique fusion of academic sculpture techniques with the deep cultural roots of Central Asia, Buddhist symbols, and archaic shamanic imagery. Working primarily with bronze, silver, and mammoth tusk, he creates both delicate jewelry collections and monumental public art.
He is an Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts and a Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. His large-scale public monuments are installed in London, Kazakhstan, and across Russia. In 2021, he founded the "Tuji" Land Art Park in his native region to preserve nomadic cultural heritage and support local communities.
